7046495Eighth in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J.R. Wars, Lover Mine was read by June 13th 2010.

The story everyone’s been waiting for since Lover Avenged. Jon and Xhex finally reunite after she was kidnapped by the son of the Omega Lash.

Lots of different storylines woven in together with this one, but unlike her earlier attempts at weaving, this one worked out quite well.

Surprisingly enough Xhex’s mother makes an appearance at the end of the book, and more of her background story through the diary of Jon’s father oddly enough. Even better though is the interesting information we get from the same diary as to who Jon REALLY is. Of course nothing is proven or set in stone here, but it is strongly hinted at.

We see Quinn and Blay explore their relationship more, and on different levels and now it looks as if something might come of it. Me I’m hoping they do get together.

Lash finally bites it, and I think we’re all the happier for it. After keeping Xhex captive for 4 weeks and forcing himself on her continuously, she finally gets to put a knife through his heart.

And last but not least, Payne. We see more of her and her sparring with Wrath, but near the end she is gravely injured and brought over from the Other Side for medical attention from Doc Jane, and who should she run into but her twin brother V? Well that was quite the family reunion. The Scribe Virgin really needs to watch her back now. Also seems like Payne will be the focus of the next Brotherhood installment.
