13572885Fresh Meat by Alice Henderson is one of the latest in what appears to be a long line of Supernatural books based upon the hit TV series of the same name.

And so far, they’re pretty good.

This time the boys and Bobby head on out to the old west where several people have gone missing in the mountains. After taking out a Wendigo they think they got the job wrapped up, but people still keep dying and disappearing.

And walking home filled with other people’s organs.

Obviously not the work of a Wendigo, the three go hunting for an old, Old World creature that no one has hunted before, let alone killed.

But something as trivial as a new freaky beastie isn’t going to stop our boys, and with a little luck and a lot,of leg, work, they’re off to hunt a …something.

Providing of course they don’t get buried in the avalanches that the mountain is raining down on their heads….

Next up, the last Supernatural book printed to date: Supernatural Carved in Flesh by Tim Waggoner. I think I’m sensing a theme here…

15750380Reported sightings of a hellish hound and the discovery of newly dead desiccated corpses bring Sam and Dean Winchester to Brennan, Ohio. But when they catch the monster canine it turns out to be “Frankenmutt”; a reanimated patchwork of pieces from separate dogs.

Soon the brothers are on a trail that leads from mad scientists and biotechnology to a centuries-old alchemists, walking corpses, and an ancient and malevolent power.
