28252383Good Lord I hope this isn’t the last of the Dragon Age graphic novels.  I’ve enjoyed them all, but so far this one is my favorite.  Granted, there aren’t that many out, but my point still stands.

For fellow DA fans, this third installment answers the question that many have been asking – what exactly happened to Alistair’s father, King Maric?  Bittersweetly enough, Alistair finds his father and discovers that the strength he was hoping to find with his father was within him all along.

Corny?  Yes.  But they say it first!

Narrated by and starring that lovable dwarven rouge Varric, pirate queen Isabella, and of course Alistair himself, the three heroes reunite with Sten the Qunari, now their leader, and launch an assault on the rocky fortress of an evil wizard who wants Alistair’s blood for reasons unknown.  All they know is the sorcerer really wants his blood.

Normally in this canon, you would assume that the evil sorcerer is a blood mage, and in some ways you would be right.  But the real reasons and motives which we eventually discover reveal something absolutely fascinating about Alistair’s bloodline, along with his family’s history with dragons and that infamous Witch of the Wilds.  They don’t outright say her name, but we all know its her.

Please, don’t let this be the last one!  I know the third Dragon Age game is coming out soon, hopefully something new comes out with it!

The final installment of the Jack Howard series by David Gibbins is coming up next.
