870819This, this is what I was waiting for.  For as long as I have been reading the Resident Evil Series, I have been trying to draw some similarities between the books and the movies and now I finally have!

Resident Evil 5: Nemesis, is basically the second movie Resident Evil: Apocalypse only from an alternative perspective.  You still have Jill Valentine and the genetically modified Tyrant, as well as the former Umbrella grunt Carlos Oliviera.  All trapped in Raccoon City now that the T-Virus has reached the surface of the city and all entrances and exits have been shut to attempt to contain the plague.

Jill and Carlos hook up -pretty much every way you can take that- and run through the city looking for survivors and trying to find a way out of the city before it is turned into a giant steaming pile of nuclear waste.

Really, the only thing missing is Alice.  And while I wish she had made an appearance, the books are supposed to be based more on the games than the movies so c’est la vie.

Now, something I’ve been looking forward to for some time.  The origin story of one of my fav character from Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Dark Hunter’s series, The Chronicles of Nick #1: Infinity.

6696602At fourteen, Nick Gautier thinks he knows everything about the world around him. Streetwise, tough and savvy, his quick sarcasm is the stuff of legends. . .until the night when his best friends try to kill him. Saved by a mysterious warrior who has more fighting skills than Chuck Norris, Nick is sucked into the realm of the Dark-Hunters: immortal vampire slayers who risk everything to save humanity.

Nick quickly learns that the human world is only a veil for a much larger and more dangerous one: a world where the captain of the football team is a werewolf and the girl he has a crush on goes out at night to stake the undead.

But before he can even learn the rules of this new world, his fellow students are turning into flesh eating zombies. And he’s next on the menu.

As if starting high school isn’t hard enough. . .now Nick has to hide his new friends from his mom, his chainsaw from the principal, and keep the zombies and the demon Simi from eating his brains, all without getting grounded or suspended. How in the world is he supposed to do that
