6696602Spoiler alert for those reading/interested in reading the Sherrilyn Kenyon Dark Hunter books.

Nick Gautier is the smart mouthed friend and ‘sidekick’ for lack of a better word, to Acheron of the Dark Hunter series.  But fate is not kind to Nick in that series, and due to a blunder of Acheron, Nick loses the one person he loves most in the world: his mother.

This series, The Chronicles of Nick, is his story growing up as a young teen and his life with his single mother who strips to put food on the table.  Infinity is the first of the series, and from the looks of things it appears that Ms Kenyon is looking to do a bit of a re-write with the Dark Hunter canon.

Because in Infinity, bigger powers are at play, moving people like pieces on a chess board.  Making sure person A is there in time to save person B, and that person C is in just the right place to make the acquaintance of person D, etc etc.  Followers of the Dark Hunter series, and fans of Nick Gautier will see and understand what I’m talking about once they read the book, and despite being a teen book it is an engrossing read.  Sherrilyn Kenyon has proven herself time and again as an excellent writer of adult romance, and she’d proving a fair hand at teen books as well.

Granted I maybe biased due to my affinity with the character and author, but you’ll need to figure that our for yourself now won’t you?
