291691Bloody hell.  Outta the frying pan and into the fire for our heroes here.  They manage to escape a castle made of shadows, housing evil shape shifting wizards, only to return home to Faerun and discover four Zhentalir armies on the move to their home of Shadowdale, led by the avatar of Bane.

Well, after being caught in a spell trap of course…

All Shadows Fled is basically our heroes rejoining the Knights of Myth Drannor in Shadowdale and protecting the Dale from marauding armies of Zhentrim and Malaugrym.  The win of course, and the Malaugrym they befriended in Shadowhome comes to Faerun looking to woo lady Knight Sharantyr to be his love.  Awwww. *gag*

The ending is a wee bit confusing, you would think Sharantyr would choose one of the Harper boys she’s travelled with for all this time as her love, but instead she seems to choose them both, and there’s an odd hand comment about her child but we’re left with not knowing if she’s pregnant then or if the comment refers to her future.

I liked how I was able to link up the events of Shadows of the Avatar with the events of the Avatar trilogy.  It kinda helped solidify the timeline in my head.

All in all an enjoyable trilogy.  A good balance of action, humor, love and death.

So…about the next one…I’m going through books I would normally never buy and Twilight by Stephanie Meyer more than fits the bill.

Not. One. Word.

41865About three things I was absolutely positive:

First, Edward was a vampire.

Second, there was a part of him – and I didn’t know how dominant that part might be – that thirsted for my blood.

And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.

When Bella Swan moves to the gloomy town of Forks and meets Edward Cullen, her life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn. With his porcelain skin, golden eyes, mesmerizing voice, and supernatural gifts, Edward is both irresistible and impenetrable. Up until now, he has managed to keep his true identity hidden, but Bella is determined to uncover his dark secret.

What Bella doesn’t realize is the closer she gets to him, the more she is putting herself and those around her at risk. And it might be too late to turn back…
