291515Rather excited to read this series.  The Druidhome trilogy follows after the Moonshae trilogy, albeit it focuses more on the children of the Moonshae heroes rather than the heroes themselves.

So twenty years have passed since the events in the Moonshae trilogy, years that have passed in relative peace.  Bhaal was defeated by now High King Tristan, but the Moonshae Isles have lost their Earthmother goddess, and the dark god Talos has now set his sights on the fair islands.

Cursed by extreme weather for the past five years, the people of the Moonshaes are finding their peace threatened by saughin, dracoliches, pirates, a dark priest and a mad princess.  All working together -sometimes unknowlingly- to bring the islands under Talos’ control.

It’s up to the Crown Princess, her mage tutor, a barbarian prince, and a rag tag assortment of allies old and new to stop it.

I always enjoy reading about the Moonshaes.  They’re based on modern day Ireland with their druid based religion, collection of small islands areound a larger one, and the geography of contrasting planes, forest, cliffs and valleys.  Looking forward to book #2, Coral Kingdom

But before that, we’re finally going to visit the first book in the Immortals After Dark series, The Warlord Wants Forever.  At last!

6388558Nikolai Wroth, once a ruthless human warlord in the 1700s and now a general in the rebel vampire army, needs to find his bride, the one woman who can render him truly alive. As a turned human, he doesn’t enjoy a heartbeat or breathing and is consequently weaker than fully blooded vampires. He wants his bride for the power she will bring him and can hardly believe it when his heart beats for Myst the Coveted, a mad, fey, mythological creature.

She eludes him for five years, but he has finally chased her to ground and stolen the jewel which commands her, giving him absolute power over her. While he possesses it, he can make her do anything, and he plans to in order for her to experience firsthand the agonizing, unending lust she’d purposely subjected him to for half a decade. Yet when Wroth realizes he wants more from her and frees her, will she come.
