291674Enjoyable, but I think it’s more intended towards horror fans.

The Night Parade is the 5th book the in Harper series and focuses on the Lady Lord of Arabel, Myrmeen Lhalas as she travels back to her childhood home of the slums of Calimport in search of the child she thought died 14yrs ago.

She runs into an alien race of Lovecraftian horrors and shape shifters who call themselves the Night Parade. They feast on nightmares and steal babes in order to reproduce by performing a ritual on the babes to change them into creatures of horror and nightmares. And the night parade steals these babes once a year and only takes babes born on that night.

Myrmeen gave birth on such a night the Night Parade came to town, her babe sold to them by the child’s father to cover gambling debts. And now it looks like the Night Parade will march again after 14yrs, unless Myrmeen and her Harper friends can stop them before another generation of humanity is lost.

Everyone pretty much dies here, the only saving grace is that Myrmeen is oficially inducted into the Harpers and finds not one, but two daughters.

Next up is the latest in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series that I have been waiting a long time for, The Shadows.
