15792550I couldn’t wait to keep reading Farideh and Haviler’s story, so I didn’t!

Here we pick up with the tiefling sisters and dragonborn foster father pretty much where we left them, searching for a way to free Farideh from her pact with the cambion Lorcan as well as a way to make a living.

Having caught a bounty on the road, they are destined for Cormyr to turn it in and collect the reward. But foster father Mehnen is detained en route and the girls are left on their own.  They get themselves ensnared in a Harper quest, travel to an ancient Netherese library, unwittingly save Lorcan’s life, fall in love, release an ancient evil, learn more about their ancestor the original Brimstone Angel and the Toril Thirteen.  The thirteen tieflings to be exact, who helped Asmodeus ascend to godhood and enabled him to curse the tiefling bloodline so it ran true in breeding.

In other words, no matter what you mix a tiefling with, you get another tiefling.  And Farideh’s parents were an interesting pair of teiflings…

But that’s another tale for another time.

In the meantime, let’s check out the last of the Hollows series by Kim Harrison with Witch With No Name next.

20426917Rachel Morgan’s come a long way from the clutzy runner of Dead Witch Walking. She’s faced vampires and werewolves, banshees, witches, and soul-eating demons. She’s crossed worlds, channeled gods, and accepted her place as a day-walking demon. She’s lost friends and lovers and family, and an old enemy has become something much more.

But power demands responsibility, and world-changers must always pay a price. That time is now.

To save Ivy’s soul and the rest of the living vampires, to keep the demonic ever after and our own world from destruction, Rachel Morgan will risk everything.
