Legend of Drizz’t

Bit of a cheap post today folks.  Life’s kinda getting in the way right now so I decided to toss up something quick, simple, and easy, that thankfully ties into my next post in a few days.  We will return to your regularly scheduled…stuff…shortly.

I am a rather large fan of a particular author by the name of R.A. Salvatore.  He is the creator of the Forgotten Realms character Drizz’t Do’Urden, and it was this character that started my Forgotten Realms obsession almost ten years ago.

Now, R.A. Salvatore was a New York Times Bestselling Author long before Drizz’t came along, and for good reason.  Rarely have I seen such a prolific author with such diverse works.

I own all of Salvatore’s works, minus his Star Wars stuff and am slowly reading through them bit by bit.  I’ll be updating this list with links to reviews as I read them.

Otherwise, enjoy.

The Spearwielder’s Tale

  • The Woods Out Back
  • The Dragon’s Dagger
  • Dragonslayer’s Return

Saga of the First King

  • The Highwayman
  • The Ancient
  • The Dame
  • The Bear

The DemonWars Saga

Chronicles of Ynis Aielle

Crimson shadow series

  • The Sword of Bedwyr
  • Luthien’s Gamble
  • The Dragon King

Star Wars

  • Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones

Star Wars: The New Jedi Order

  • Vector Prime

Graphic novel adaptations

  • Homeland
  • Exile
  • Sojourn
  • The Crystal Shard
  • Streams of Silver
  • Trial by Fire
  • The Halfling’s Gem
  • Eye for an Eye
  • Legacy
  • Starless Night

Other novels

  • Tarzan: The Epic Adventures.

Forgotten Realms novels: Most of them deal directly with his infamous drow character Drizz’t Do’Urden, but I have made notation beside those that do not directly deal with this character but still tie into the saga.

Dark Elf Trilogy:

  1. Homeland
  2. Exile
  3. Sojourn

Icewind Dale Trilogy;

  1. Crystal Shard
  2. Streams of Silver
  3. Halfling’s Gem

Legacy of the Drow:

  1. Legacy
  2. Starless Night
  3. Siege of Darkness
  4. Passage Till Dawn

Paths of Darkness:

  1. Silent Blade
  2. Spine of the World
  3. Servant of the Shard
  4. Sea of Swords

Hunter’s Blades:

  1. Thousand Orcs
  2. Lone Drow
  3. Two Swords

Transitions:

  1. Orc King
  2. Pirate King
  3. Ghost King

Neverwinter:

  1. Gauntlgrym
  2. Neverwinter
  3. Charon’s Claw

Stone of Tymora: Written with his son, and chronologically takes place sometime during the Drizz’t Saga, but I’m not sure when.  Does feature Drizz’t as a character, albeit not the main one.

  1. Stowaway
  2. Shadow Mask
  3. Sentinels

The Cleric Quintet: The priest Cadderly Bonaduce and his adventures defending his order against the agents of Tymora, goddess of poison.  Should be read before the Transitions trilogy as this quintet was published early on, and the characters are brought back in Ghost King.

  1. Canticle
  2. In Sylvan Shadows
  3. Night Masks
  4. The Fallen Fortress
  5. The Chaos Curse

The Sellswords: The adventures of Drizz’t’s nemesis, with the dark elf Jarlaxle.  Takes place chronologically after Paths of Darkness trilogy, but again, so long as you read it before the Transitions trilogy you do just fine.

  1. Servant of the Shard
  2. Promise of the Witch King
  3. Road of the Patriarch

War of the Spider Queen: Each book was actually written by a different author, but deals with characters Salvatore created back in the Dark Elf trilogy.  Features a powerful drow priestess traveling to the realms of her dark goddess in order to revive her.  Fits in somewhere after the Dark Elf trilogy, but not too sure when.

  1. Dissolution
  2. Insurrection
  3. Condemnation
  4. Extinction
  5. Annihilation
  6. Resurrection
Whatever
